Dinner party etiquette, Do's and Don'ts
As the colder months approach, the beautiful weather makes it perfect for hosting dinner parties and gatherings with your loved ones.
It´s the perfect time to enjoy beautiful decorations and great food. Spending time with your friends and family will always be the perfect plan.
We want to be great hosts but we also want to be the perfect guest! Being a good guest is important, this way you will create great memories for the rest of your life.
Even if you are well versed in the table etiquette, there's always room for improvement, this are some of the most important things you need to remember:
When being a guest, always bring a gift for your host, but make sure you present it discreetly.
Remember to always arrive on time, 10-15 minutes after the scheduled time is perfect, you don't want to arrive too early or too late. In case of an emergency always let your host know if there's any mishap that will make you arrive late.
If you have any dietary restrictions of allergies, let your host know.
Dress up for the occasion.
Get to know other guests, greet people and introduce yourself. Ask questions. Be interested. Keep the conversation flowing and you will make great friends!
Compliment the food, it's nice to show your gratitude for the host.
Ignore the phone, checking our phones has become a habit and we often don't realize we are doing it. Give you full attention to the dinner party.
The most important part of being a good guest is to just have fun! Enjoy yourself! That's the best way to appreciate your host and their efforts.
